I'm taking hundreds of pictures every day. I'd love to find safe place to "store" them, because my laptop's memory is running short. Is PicturePush safe to be use as a place where I can keep all my pictures? How big danger is that system will crash one day, or someone will decide to clean old fails?
Those pictures here are not very critical, I keep important ones on CD's, but still I didn't want to loose them.
I had bad experience with some services hosting photo albums. After publishing pictures on my forum few months later they disappeared. I had to do it all over again using another provider. How sure can I be, that you and my pictures will be here 10 years from now?
And can I upload all my pictures and mini movies to PicturePush even if I have several GBs of them?

To start with the last question: yes you can upload that. There are currently several users with over 10.000 images.
Regarding the reliability, that is a hard question to answer. At this point we back-up the photos to a separate server every day. So to loose the photos both servers should fail. We are planning on an even more reliable system that keeps at least three copies of each photo, one will be in a different location in the world.
We plan to keep PicturePush online, as it's main primary goal was to host our own photos and we don't like them to be lost. However, it is very hard to estimate, what happens to our company 10 years from now. I can only give you our best intentions. |

wow, didn't know that you make daily backups, great, magnificent
even weekly would be great already, daily is even crazier...
as it goes now, it goes fine,
and what you say about the future is true, today you can never guarantee a site keeps existing, how big and good it even is..
but I hope this one stays forever
I hope those ads help you guys a bit with the costs

I do have one more question. I'm moving all my images from another service, which has unlimited storage space, but limits "transfers" to 10 GB per month. I have many thumbnails of my pics on my forum and I know, I am now, or I will soon generate more then 10 GB of transfer "value". Not sure how to say that properly.
I understand, that you have also unlimited transfer for pro members? I can hotlink everyone of my pictures to my forum, using thumbnails? I don't want any surprises later on.
And thanks for your great service. |

yes, we do have unlimited transfer for pro-users.
(Currently as well for the free users, but I don't expect us to be able to provide that forever) |
